Juan 5:19-23
19 Entonces Jesús explicó: «Les digo la verdad, el Hijo no puede hacer nada por su propia cuenta, sólo hace lo que ve que el Padre hace. Todo lo que hace el Padre, también lo hace el Hijo, 20 pues el Padre ama al Hijo y le muestra todo lo que hace. De hecho, el Padre le mostrará cómo hacer cosas más trascendentes que el sanar a ese hombre. Entonces ustedes quedarán realmente asombrados. 21 Pues, así como el Padre da vida a los que resucita de los muertos, también el Hijo da vida a quien él quiere. 22 Además, el Padre no juzga a nadie, sino que le ha dado al Hijo autoridad absoluta para juzgar, 23 a fin de que todos honren al Hijo así como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo, por cierto tampoco honra al Padre quien lo envió.
Al enfrentar el acoso y rechazo de la gente, Jesús explica Su verdadera identidad como Hijo de Dios. En realidad ese momento debe haber sido muy difícil y doloroso para El, ya que la gente no quería escuchar o no tenían interés en lo que El decía, es más los líderes estaban buscando cualquier oportunidad para condenarlo: “esforzaron aún más por encontrar una forma de matarlo” (Juan 5:18). Siendo Dios, El merece a que todos lo honren (v.23), pero lo que él recibió fue rechazo y condenación. Sin embargo, El nos amó tanto hasta estar dispuesto a aguantar toda injusticia. La gente estaba tan en contra de Jesus incluso estaban incrédulos de Su poder de sanar a ese hombre, pero El les afirma que “el Padre le mostrará cómo hacer cosas más trascendentes que el sanar a ese hombre. Entonces ustedes quedarán realmente asombrados” (v.20).
John 5:19-23
19 So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. In fact, the Father will show him how to do even greater works than healing this man. Then you will truly be astonished.21 For just as the Father gives life to those he raises from the dead, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants. 22 In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, 23 so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.
