12-14 I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. 15-16So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it. (Philippians 3:12-16 – The Message)

Throughout our lives, we may have many dreams. We are all so used to the “One day” statement. One day, I’ll be rich. One day, I’ll retire. One day, I’ll have more faith in God. However, do we have plans to work toward those “dreams”? Do we ever set achievable goals, so the dreams can actually come true? Even if we have goals, we may get easily distracted. We may give up. We may get frustrated. We may question ourselves, “is this really what I want to do for the rest of my life?” What we so called goals become blur and eventually vanish. It is hard to remain on track and keep running. It requires a lot of effort. Sometimes, we may need to sacrifice in order to move on. We have two choices. We can choose to live a simple and risk-free life. We can make our best effort to ensure that we are free from possible distress. We can aim to spend the least effort to meet that acceptable line. Not an inch more and not an inch less. We are satisfied but our “dreams” will remain dreams forever. Our dreams will be fantasies that we share among friends, when we are tired of trash talk and want to talk about something seems to be more meaningful. Do you long for this kind of life? Another way of life requires sweat and hard work. We are determined and be prepared to pay the price as we strongly believe God has prepared the best for us and that is all we want. God does not throw the prize right in front of us. We need to run to get it. In return, we would be able to enjoy the fruit of hard work. Most importantly, our dream comes true.
